Overview

The Only Heavy-Duty Car Lift You’ll Ever Need

The HDS-40 four-post lift lets you wrench on absolutely massive vehicles. You’ll be hard-pressed to find anything in BendPak’s lineup with as much brute force as the HDS-40. That means the ergonomic controls, massive sheaves, over-engineered lift components and aircraft-quality cables are always going to guarantee the ultimate lifting experience.

Extended runways

Car lifts that have longer runways are typically less prone to causing accidental vehicle damage. For BendPak’s largest four-post lift, they’ve made sure that the most massive 40K trucks and commercial vehicles can safely make their way onto the ramps for service.

Dual-hub cable sheaves

The truck sheaves of the HDS-40 are made 12” in diameter with 4” diameter sheave axles and are over-engineered to allow for maximum safety. They’re low maintenance and low-cost for the entire lifespan of your lift. All four sheaves rotate in perfect synchronization to achieve a smooth, even lift, 100% of the time.

Heavy-duty aircraft cable

BendPak’s heavy-duty, 3/6” diameter, 6 x 25 galvanized lifting cables are expertly engineered to withstand the weight of fully loaded full-size flatbeds and city buses. They have their cables totally resistant to rust and chemical reactions, as well as environmental factors such as heat, humidity, air particulate, etc. And don’t worry, these cables will require very little maintenance over time.

Built-in lubrication

This lift uses self-lubricating grease nipples which will keep your cables sliding smoothly and gently through the sheaves. The grease nipples are fitted through the sheave and sheave axle for many years of peak performance.

Flow restrictor

The hydraulic cylinder has a flow restrictor built into it, and it provides a safe descent in the extremely unlikely event of a catastrophic hose rupture. Even if this highly unlikely event were to occur, your truck lift will gently descend and safely touch down on the ground. You’ll most likely never see this feature in action, but it will always be there.

Large base plates

Truck lift base plates were made a little wider than the bases of BendPak’s lighter-duty models: 12 x 12 plate dimensions are sturdy and can be easily bolted into suitable concrete flooring for years of extreme security.

Spring-loaded safety locks

The adjustable safety locks will automatically click into place at multiple levels as the lift ascends. With this feature you’ll be able to specifically choose your preferred service lifting point. It can also be used to accommodate uneven floors. In total you’ll have 13 different locking positions that make the HDS-40 not only incredibly versatile, but also incredibly safe.

Push-button pneumatic lock release

This lift utilizes a one-push pneumatic release which will simultaneously disengage all four locks in a rapid descent that will never lose its balance. The pneumatic cylinders are crafted from stainless steel and aluminum and feature aircraft-quality. They have been tested and overloaded in BendPak’s California Facilities to make sure that it lives up to the standard they have set for their many products. Their quality control experts will listen for a smooth hiss which accompanies the release and descent of every healthy lift they manufacture.

Secondary lock system

The HDS-40 comes equipped with a cable-slack detection device which acts as a secondary lock in the event of a mechanical failure on the lift. While mechanical failures are unlikely, they’re still more likely to occur than hydraulic failures given the nature and operation of the moving parts. If you own a lift that experiences cable slack, it could have disastrous results. To remedy this, BendPak has incorporated this system to kick in to make sure your lift shuts down completely, which will keep you and your vehicle safe until the issue can be resolved.

Integrated design

The cables, sheaves, axles, and other components are internally routed through the lift. The hydraulic cylinder itself is hidden underneath the lift. This design choice not only makes sure that the lift retains its sleek look, but it also makes sure that your lift is as safe as possible. The cables and sheaves will perform better when they’re not exposed to outside factors like dirt, grime, and anything else that could negatively affect performance.

Adjustable height locking positions

13 locking positions mean you have more versatility with where you position the ramps. Most other companies only provide 10 positions on their four-post lift models. It might sound minor, even a few inches can make the difference when it comes to operator comfort.

Electric-hydraulic power system

Having a high-quality lift means having a high-quality hydraulic power unit. With ergonomic one-push button control, a stabilizing pressure relief valve, and many other intuitive design features (i.e. protective weatherproof casing), each hydraulic power pack from BendPak ensures a clean run, even in the busiest of shops.

Flexible protective conduit

To maximize safety and keep all of the cables safe from wear, BendPak has wrapped all of their cables and airlines in protective tubing. The layered conduit is non-conducive to electricity and is sturdy enough to be able to handle heavy use in busy commercial shops.

Rolling bridge jacks

With the right equipment you’ll be able to easily perform wheel service on full-size trucks and commercial vehicles. BendPak offers a wide selection of rolling bridge jacks to support almost every type of vehicle. Hydraulic pumps come standard with each bridge jack, along with SUV/truck adapters that you’ll need in order to reach deeper undercarriages. You can’t cut corners when it comes to heavy-duty lifting, or any lifting for that matter. Speak to a BendPak representative to make sure you’ll be well-equipped to handle whatever comes your way.

Choose extended length

It takes a lot of muscle to be able to lift 40,000 lbs., and many vehicles of this caliber are longer than what BendPak’s standard-length series of four-post lifts can accommodate. If you want to be able to handle the longest and heaviest, you’ll need the HDS40X. It’s BendPak’s heaviest-duty extended car lift. With it you’ll be able to handle a bus, no problem.
